I think 'No to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Spurn Visitor Centre Location' articulates part of what I felt on seeing the plans. Plus, I realise the building has to be functional - but ugly too?

There is a case for a visitor centre at Spurn, but it's not worth dumping this in the area suggested, ruining both habitat and the look of the heritage coast. Spurn's attraction is its wilderness, please use one of the existing buildings where possible.

Spurn is a beautiful wild place. We don't have many left and to build a two storey visitors centre would really spoil the unique nature of this wonderful place. We have so few places like this left anymore. please leave it alone, don't spoil it for our future generations!

The building is too large, and should be in a different location, eg close to the Bluebell Cafe, or in the fields to the east of the road to Spurn.

If the information filtering through is correct I feel ywt have lost their way and would be interested to hear their response on their lack of objection to sandy beaches proposed expansion and the 'need' for the visitor centre to face the wind turbines.sold out?

If this place is to be built, it needs to find a new site that's well away from a specific wildlife habitat.

The proposed location would irreversibly ruin this important area of land for migrating birds. YWT need to listen to the comments which are being made.

This is a totally inappropriate and unnecessary development, presumably aimed at increasing YWT's revenue rather than with any concern about environmental damage.

Less is more YWT - your focus at Spurn should be on the birds within the existing landscape, not 'visitor attractions', 'stakeholders' and car parks. Take Blakeney Point as your inspiration and leave Spurn as the magical place it is.
