Perhaps the City can purchase this lot themselves stop all the craziness.

Heres an idea! Why does that space need to be filled with a brick box of pollution? Lay down sod and plant fruit trees. Healthy food, helps clean the air, adds colour to a dingy grey area, no rats, no stink, happy neighbours, and inline with the "walkability " agenda being pushed in this city.

We have enough trouble with the riff raff hanging around Popeyes and throwing garbage and bottles into our backyard and pool, doing often damage. There is also a lot of problems with the drunk people walking from Chicago's, Boston Pizza, and Montanans. There is a McDonalds that is further away from the housing that is there to service as a drivethrough keeping the fumes away from the houses, however putting in another one, can I ask how on earth are you trying to look after our neighborhood breathing in this crap and taking in the crap as it is yet to add another drive through to accomdate the drunks who want to eat after midnight and yet to make it 24 hours???? How can this be legal....and for the environment if not for the people that have to live in this area........Who care about us right....as long as you can make taxes on the lot!

Instead of bossing people around, how about you listen to the concerns of the people who will become your new neighbors?

Firsthand experience with Fast Food Establishment near our home. (Definitely not as close as this one!) Let me tell you, Garbage, even deep well, will not defuse the smell! Unless they remove accumulated garbage once a day (which they may promise but never do) nothing else will help. Headlights are a big issue, line-ups usually happen at night, and a wooden fence (which will deteriorate within a year and they will not fix, take a look around other establishments) will not help. Brick wall will, but there is not enough space in this project! GREASE SMELL- biggest issue, our whole home reeked of it! What can the Fast Food Establishment do about that. Absolutely nothing, except to tell us to keep our windows closed indefinitely. (Great standard of living, don't you think) and LASTLY (I could go on and on) the RATS! Fast Food = RATS lots of RATS! Rat poison and kids do not mix! I feel for the HOMEOWNERS near this drive-thru. To the councillors of Kitchener: You must remember that it was the PEOPLE of your community that voted you in, not the COMMERCIAL BUSINESSES. You and you alone represent your COMMUNITIES opinion! They trust in YOU!

Sets the stage for replacing business and building drive-thrus in other near-residential zones. Can set a trend and greatly impact high poplulation areas. Lots of choice in area already, no need to oversaturate

Big businesses should get their heads out of the cash cloud for once, and respect people's lives and homes.

Another drive through in this neighbourhood is completely unnecessary. This area is busy enough.

Residential zones adjacent to commercial zones are known to be incompatible. A service station and drive through restaurant clearly generate very different traffic flows. The adjacent residential use should be respected and a more compatible use for the commercial property sought. If city council approves this zone change it will be show of disrespect of residential neighborhoods. The city is anxious to increase the tax base by approving yet another restaurant but they need to slow down and find a MORE residential compatible use for this property rather than a LESS residential compatible use.

There are enough smelly drive-through restaurants along Ottawa along this stretch. Drive throughs are environmentally unsustainable, and no new ones should be permitted anywhere in Kitchener.

Business should not interfere with property values and quality of home life . Would the mayor or other significant people accept this?

Enough already! After the region puts it's roundabouts in, the whole area will be impossible to navigate. There is already an A&W at Bleams and Homer Watson.

Ridiculous how the city is pushing forward with this. Residents are always on loosing end of these decisions. Very Sad!

There is enough commercial choices along this stretch of road, why intrude into a space that is setup for homes? It's a poor idea and we as a city can do better.

I think a restaurant would be fine, but another drive thru is a bad idea.

There is enough commercial choices along this stretch of road. The main intersections were fine until CoK started approving all of the land use for retail. The infrastructure cannot handle further increases in traffic for yet another drive-thru. It's time to start respecting the tax paying citizens and not franchises.

So stupid. Enough commercialization of these areas, there is plenty enough food up the street people. :(

I'm tired of corporations taking over and not giving a damn about people's property values! If they want to build they should pay the residents the amount of money their property values will decrease!

Drive thrus don't build community. They don't provide a space for community members to meet and socialize instead they bring traffic, pollution and noise into a community.
