Memories aside, XU Divisoria is a landmark for Cagayan de Oro. It is also the most accessible, a hub of the growing city. Seeing building everywhere, XU's green campus is a relief and somehow helps the city flooding problem. Imagine if another commercial structure with subleases on it? How much sewage are we going to face? I wish Xavier University or Ateneo in general will remember who the are serving and what they represent. They represent religious education, above and beyond money. All Ateneo campuses are expensive. Ateneo is deep into commerce and business. Whatever happened to the calling of being men to others? Of service to God and the poor? Even the poor have a hard time getting into any Ateneo campuses despite scholarship grants. WE need something to represent our religion that indeed, there are still true servers of God out there-- and that will never serve money as their master. The sale is all about money. If the Jesuits will never feel poor, how can they teach and follow Christ?

If the sales are simply for financial reasons, exhort admin to explore instead other sourcing avenues rather than sell existing properties, especially those with still viable improvements. The size of the city can more than accommodate development in other vacant and undeveloped areas.

No. It’s the only best campus in the city and it is every Kagay-anons pride. Apart from that, I couldn’t imagine Xavier University main campus will be destroyed/demolished. And it is every child’s dream (children of Mindanao who are interested to study in CDO) to be admitted in this campus. Please don’t ruin their dreams.
