Local merchants will suffer because of corporate investments (Goldman Sachs and Pacific Life?) that are tax payer funded to the tune of $100 million. At this point I think I'd be for paying the $100 million to make sure it DOES NOT HAPPEN. That would be a more reasonable investment to make sure local people still have a stake in our town.

Just say No to the Arena. It's not good for Norman nor the locally owned business's it will close down. We dont want a corporate town of Norman. Keep it local!

Work with citizens to gain support and create a plan that reduces clear economic hardships on other districts/businesses while increases valid revenue streams (not projected but proven vetted practices). Focus on fulfilling budget gaps and promised developments FIRST (senior center, storm water utility and sports complex FOR ALL AGES)

As an economist who studies these types of deals, this proposal raises many concerns about it fiscal prudence (it is not likely to pay off at pennies on the sales tax dollar that accrue to the general fund. It also transfers tax dollars to privately owned assets - a no no for government policy.

Continuing the UNP TIF is financially irresponsible and should not be considered by council as a viable option for Norman's future. The implications of continuing this corporate subsidy will not benefit the future generations of Normanites. The City of Norman needs to use its current standing among the surrounding cities in Oklahoma and lead by example. Use the money that would be added to the cities budget by ending the TIF and improve the quality of life for all of Norman. Our infrastructure, schools, and stormwater issues need to be funded before we put all of our eggs in the UNP basket.

Not with my tax dollars. Don't ruin our town. We didn't want the first UNP and we sure don't need a second. They prmosied us Nordstroms and Anthrolopolgie and high end shopping. We got Target and Dressbarn, and the slow death of Ed Noble. Now they promise an arena and fine dining. Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice - shame on me. There will not be a second time. You have lost the confidence of Norman residents!
