Absolutely, vote NO to this project. The University has plenty of funds available to build their own arena and Norman does not need an entertainment district. The current TIF district has done nothing for Norman, only close down stores and restaurants on Ed Noble Parkway!

TIFs are designed to encourage investment in *blighted* areas, not primo, undeveloped land. Building an arena way north of campus will hurt local businesses and divorce actual on-the-ground interaction with the actual university from support of its student athletes. OU should invest in remodeling Lloyd Noble. The City should invest in quality of life projects such as a senior center and an aquatic center for competitive swim meets.

The City of Norman does not need an arena, and the citizens should not be asked to fund such an endeavor. The University has an arena, which they can do with as they wish

I don't believe their numbers. 161 events a year is about one every 2 days. And I think they said 450,000 people yearly which would be almost 3000 per these events.
