I love Olhao

I visited Olhao in 2015 for the first time and I adored its authentic character and relative lack of mass tourism.It is a beautiful little gem with a vibrant cosmopolitan community.It would be a great loss to Portugal if it was modernized to be like a million other seaside resorts.

Já existe edifícios, que necessitam de ser restaurados, para actividades culturais dentro do centro da cidade e também já há uma torre panorâmica. Qual é o interesse em fazer coisas novas'. Vejo isso muito nubloso, escuro.

Olhao has done miracles over the last few years in retaining all its architectural charm - the sight lines along its charming streets, the wonderful roofscape - the beauty of the calcadas which add so much to the colour and character of your town. What you destroy can never be replaced - please cherish what makes Olhao so important culturally, architecturally and historically.
