No to the plans destroying the character of the historic centre of Olhão in Portugal

Hi, We love the historic town and it's history and quaint appeal is the reason we visit. We wouldn't visit otherwise. As a seasoned traveller across Europe and historic heritage regions of the world, I can only advise that you would be making a big mistake in your tourism potential by modernising ....it's not what people want...they can go to Dubai for that, and they do. Olhão is such a beautiful town. I cannot possibly understand why anyone would wish to mar it's beauty by modernising the town centre in such a way. As a tourist, I would definitely reconsider returning to Olhão should these plans go ahead.

Had 2 lovely holidays here staying in traditional houses NOT hotel chains. That's its attraction. Do not lose that.

Please do not destroy the historic centre of Olhao by turning it into just another Algarve tourist town, please restore it symphathetically

Please leave this wonderful town as is to maintain the unique charme and beauty of Olhao.

Please keep Olhao as it is. We love it and return to it each year for holidays. When modern building will be build we will not come anymore. Why kill tourism? Why destroy what is so beautiful?

Surely the Council must realise that tourists visit Olhao because of its traditional buildings and because it is different to the rest of the tourist traps in the Algarve. Don`t destroy your town`s precious heritage. Destroying history comes at a price.

If the council allows high-rise towers the traditional charm of this town will be lost. Do you really want Olhao to end up looking like The Strip in Albufeira ?

Please don't ruin the lovely town of Olhao. We visit every year from England, and we adore its rustic charm, the wonderful markets and the people.

Please Leave this charming place like it is! Otherwise Olhao will lost mostly all the tourists, wich could not be plan!!
