No to the plans destroying the character of the historic centre of Olhão in Portugal

Olhao is such a special place, and it's unique old character must be preserved.

I have spent an enchanted summer in Olhao in 2016 and have already made plans to return. The town, with its beautiful buildings and calcadas has a unique character, which must be preserved at all cost. Do not destroy its history, it is the key to its charm. It will keep us coming back, while drawing many others in the years to come.

Protect your heritage as it is your best asset. Scotland is learning that lesson.

This new plan to destroy the historic centre of the old city of Olhao must be stopped at all costs.

Olhao's unique character is exactly the reason we come to visit, please don't change it.

Olhao is a wonderful town and should remain a traditional and an asset to the Algarve ..... don't spoil it !!!!

Olhao is beautiful as it is. The worst thing would be street lighting. Tidy, paint and clean. NO MORE

Considero que Olhão ( centro e perto da Ria ) deve ser preservada. Fóra com os arranha céus à beira Ria. !Se quizer fazer prédios de andares que os façam longe da zona ribeirinha.

I would like to see the designs for the street lighting and furniture and also the alternatives for it. Is it possible to look at redeveloping the empty shops outside the historic centre, the local comunity as well as the tourists will really benefit from this, there are enough creative people in Olhao to help with this.

The propsed plan would adversely affect the character and nature of the town. I have had two holidays there in the past and a big attraction was the original and authentic street scape. Yes that did make it hard to negotiate in a modern car but please do not change it in an insensitive way.!!!

The charm of Olhao, and a vital part of its attraction for tourists, is the beautifully preserved old town. Please don't wreck it!
