Alhoa is an authentic gem. I visited Olhao 1.5Y ago, and the pureness of the city made me decide to come back soon again! Please keep the authentic nature of this town. High storey buildings simply don't fit in the historical centre

I do not object to creating better living and opportunities for the residents.
But, as a foreigner and photographer, I have never seen another place with that atmosphere and originality before.
It is truly a unique place and you will regret your decisions once it is too late to turn them back.
There are many talented architects and city planners. Use their insights and knowledge to create a better place for the people of Olhao while preserving the uniqueness of what you have.
For all the grandeur to be found in Portugal's historic monuments, Olhao offers you a view of everyday life of a fisherman town with Arabic influences architecture. It should be a Unesco World Heritage site, since it is probably the last one left.

I love Olhão and return every year because it has NOT been redone in this way, and I recommend it to other Americans for this reason too. Please preserve its unusual character; it is quite special and beautiful the way it is.

Such a lovely town. Perfect in every way just as it is! I would be unlikely to visit again if it became more 'modern'.

It would be a crime to deprieve the old city center of what makes its character and charm.

Olhao should stay the way it is. We have seen so many ugly modernisations in other parts of Portugal and the world. Please don't do that to Olhao, visitors like myself only come because it is so beautifully untoched

Please don't make Olhao like any other Southern Europe seaside venue! This is a short-term move!

Please do NOT destroy the charm and character of Olhao. It is a really unique and beautiful place and would be ruined by the proposed modernisation.
