The soul of Olhao lies in its distinctive historical architecture. To destroy or damage this architectural heritage would be to destroy the soul of Olhao, and remove the reasons why visitors like to go there. A disastrous plan!

I strongly believe that these proposed changes are contradictory to both the cultural and commercial success of the town. If you look across many countries the areas that are thriving are those that have preserved their unique character, attracting both visitors and local residents alike and injected much needed life and new industry into these special places. Please do not go ahead with these proposed/changes.

Olhao should keep and maintain its unique heritage. Otherwise it will just become yet another soulless seaside resort. Don't make the same mistakes as so many Spanish or Portuguese seaside towns. You are unique.

I spent 5 days in this wonderful unspoilt town last summer. Please do not allow it to be ruined by development. It would be a tragedy for both the locals and for visitors. It is unique.
