This is just what Lee County needs: more pollution, dirty drinking water,
more heavy traffic, rock blasting, reduction in home values and it is being sold as economic development - what a pathetic attempt to ruin a beautiful county.

I am totally 100% AGAINST THIS QUARRY PROJECT. My husband and I moved to Carolina Trace in 1977. Our entire community will be destroyed by this quarry.

This will promote additional pollution and waste in the little river area and further destroy and degrade fishing and clean water. We argue about no fracking but this is OK for explosives and metal contaminants near a major water artery for the county, where is the logic. The county is trying to sell this as economic development but holds up business development and licenses for stores and merchants. The logic doesn't match.

It would bring down property values of existing homes and businesses.

Lee County offered a healthy environment for my retirement years with a safe and slow paced ambiance for every day living. The proposed quarry will affect my health with pollution from increased traffic from big trucks and heavy equipment and will overshadow the tranquility that is our way of life. Please do not approve this quarry.

I ask careful consideration be given to the environmental impact of the proposed quarry - especially the effect on the dam for Lake Trace. Also, the safety of those using Hwy 87. Sanford has made recent strides with the new commercial development on 87. I understand a new housing development may be made in the area. How does the quarry fit in to bolster that continued growth?

I'm very concerned about the health issue as we live along 87 on indian trail in carolina trace and I have asthma.
