NO Little River Quarry

There is nothing positive for Lee County or Carolina Trace in constructing a quarry off of Route 87. Traffic,safety and environmental issues are major detrimental effects of opening this quarry.

Lee County has so much natural beauty, with so much diversity. It has so much to offer - don't let people who don't even live here, destroy it.

I own a house near this property for ten years and have moved here this year. This is a beautiful Community and this does not fit in and the noise , traffic and QUALITY OF LIFE will never be the same.I will advise Family and Friends to wait to see if the people really matter before moving here.

Please don't do this!

Home value is a concern along with the danger created by slow moving trucks entering HWY. 87. It will create an accident waiting to happen.

I request that the quarry not be allowed.

Lee County needs to wake up and see the negative future impact of this proposed plan. This would be a quick way to kill the positive growth and well-planned efforts of the entire section of the county. Not only will my home in Carolina Trace be negatively affected, but a Nursing and Rehabilitation center that borders the property, as well as multi unit housing and single family homes in the area. Wake up, Lee County. You'll be essentially handing a death sentence to the Southeast section of our county. Growth will stop.

I am NOT in favor of this proposed quarry. We must stop this...

Carolina Trace and the surrounding are is a residential area. Our residences and roads are not designed to withstand blasting and heavy truck traffic. Which, obviously has not been considered by the Little River, LLC especially due to the fact that they have never operate a quarry or mine. I am heavily opposed to this 370 acres being utilized for such an ill thought out process.

We have been in The Trace since 1971 and I do not want this proposed site to damage the area with increase health and safety concerns.

This quarry will cause health problems to residents in the area and will diminish the value of our homes. Please do not approve this quarry!!!

I've come to realize, it is a sad time for all residents of Lee County. At one time children ran free, played and had a healthy life growing up here. Now here comes this rock quarry, there shipping in coal ash, and next the hydraulic fracturing will began soon. I grew up on Highway 87, on beautiful land. That's where my happiest memories took place. It is a crying shame that my children, will be robbed of peaceful land,beautiful scenery, and just the simplicity of a certain way of life that I was blessed with. Instead they will get to see and hear all of the heavy machinery, the ugliness of my homeland torn all to pieces. Instead, they will grow up in a town that will be ate up with hazardous chemical waste run off in there water supply and polluted air to breathe. Why? because our people in office, whom we elected (might I add) have an agenda of there own. Our future generation's will have multiple health problems for YEAR'S. Let me say this, Why not put solar farm's in Sanford, why not put healthy businesses that would create good job's, why not help our people, land and economy advance?? Why? Because, we live in a day and age where our elected officials, only care about "right now" they have total disregard for our general welfare and health. I must say Sanford is NOT, WELL CENTERED!!! If we were, our officials wouldn't let the quarry, the coal ash, and the fracking come in our town and rob our community of our peace of mind. we should change all of those signs, that read"Sanford, Well Centered" to "Sanford, Chemically Infected, Rejected by elected officials, and officially defective."

This is a Big Injustice to North Carolina and all of it's residents. Keep North Carolina Beautiful, NOT Destroying it for Greed of Power.

This and any quarry would have a severe detrimental effect on Lee County. Not only would it damage the environment, but the trucks associated with such a business would create traffic congestion on a very busy highway as well as damage said highway due to the size and weight of the vehicles. Such a business would also impact the tax base, as countless studies have shown quarries to significantly lower residential real estate values. It would discourage new residents and, to some extent, engender some current residents to consider moving to another county.

We don't own land in Carlina Trace so we can retire and live by a stone quarry!

I live near an existing quarry and can attest to these problems.

This quarry will not improve the community. It will, in fact, bring down property values and put the local residents at risk for the sake of making a single organization richer.

I think putting a quarry next to Carolina Trace is a bad idea. It will stop the growth of that community, a community that adds so much to the life, culture, and business of Lee County. Trace pulls in a lot retired people from around the country...but that will probably stop once the word gets out of a Quarry being right next to it. Thank you for reading my comment.

VERY concerned with the heavy hauling trucks and traffic increase -not to mention water and wildlife harm!
