I am a retired ecologist and surface reclamation specialist. Unfortunately the proponents of this action do not have to prepare an environmental resource plan such as federal groups require.

I am concerned with the dust and possible asbestos getting into the air. Plus the number of dump trucks and how their loads may affect our roads in Lee County and other areas of NC.

I own a home in Carolina Trace and I am opposed to a stone quarry being so close to our community. I have seen first hand how the foundations of homes can be upset by the blasting caused by mining.

We own a home in Carolina Trace and believe that the entire community and its ecological stability will be adversely affected by this proposed Quarry. The blasts that will ensue could put our community at risk. No Quarry!

The traffic alone is simply too dangerous on an already busy road. And, why ruin a beautiful residential area.

The value of property in and around this proposed site would be devalued and it would drive potential residents away.

This quarry will most likely result in an increase in automotive insurance for all who live near it. I have already suffered from rock damage to my car on Hwy 87 without the quarry, I can only imagine what will happen with 200 trucks daily. This quarry is of no benefit to Lee County.

I can't understand how this is even being considered. The negative impact would be felt enormously by so many, while only a few would profit and profit enormously.

Just because you could does not mean you should. There is no need for this quarry at all. Lee County already has two other Rock quarries and one within 5 miles of this location, we don't need another.

The residents of the area are concerned about their health, and the heavy traffic that will be on 87 South. Pleas show your concern for the people of Lee County.

This is a no-brainer. Health issues, traffic issues and the people of this area DO NOT want this application approved.
NO, NO, NO WAY!
