We moved to Sanford over five years ago because of it's quiet country atmosphere and lack of traffic. A quarry near where we live would change what we came here for. Traffic and noise would cause me to seriously consider relocating.

We spent $1000 to have our car fixed after being sprayed by rocks from an on-coming quarry truck!

1. Highway 87 has way too much traffic for 200 trucks per day going and coming on it.
2. Carolina Trace has hundreds of homes in it and this will lower the value of our homes.
3. Lake Trace will be affected by this quarry.
4. In every way possible this quarry will negatively affect the quality of life for everyone living anywere near it.
PLEASE SAY NO TO THE QUARRY AND LET IT BE OVER. PLEASE LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE ON OUR ENVIORMENT AND THE RESIDENTS LIVING NEAR BY. PLEASE LET YOUR HEART GUIDE YOU. Thank you!!

The Little River quarry project would have a negative effect on the goals of the Greenwood Area Plan. Some examples are the potential lowering of appraised values of over 1500 homes within a few miles to the east of the quarry which would lower the tax base, thus not allowing tax rates to remain low; it would introduce an industry that is not appropriate for the area and is not compatible with the desires of the local community.

This project is UNTENABLE for the safety of traffic on 87 and the negative impact it definitely will have on residents of Carolina Trace.
