NO Little River Quarry

Please keep Carolina Trace a quiet, safe, healthy place for us to raise our children!

I am a resident of Carolina Trace - Having a Quarry will decrease the value of my home. We didn't buy a house in CT to have it devalued. You are going to also devalue Carolina Trace and the Golf Property - So I vote no to the quarry.

I hope my voice counts. I can't see this being a good fit for a business near a golfing community. Like it or not, a quarry will not boost property values. They can only go down.

A quarry and residential/commercial development? Really?

The most common complaints from residents living near to a quarry are: •Dust •Truck traffic •Noise •Blasts •Loss or degradation of water supply •Stream effects •Sinkholes I don't want any of that. Is there a rock shortage nobody has talked about? Why do we need another quarry in the area?......We don't.

This is a time when the County should be encouraging development that attracts shopping, restaurants and other businesses that enhance the stature of the County as a place to live and work. The development of a rock quarry, with its attendant noise, air and water pollution, incontrovertible adverse effects on property values and traffic impacts, among others, sends exactly the wrong message to individuals and businesses that might otherwise choose to move here. In addition, all of these adverse impacts would be forced on all of us who reside, work or own property here with no countervailing benefit to us or the County. The fact that a permit is even being considered for this venture, to be located as it would be within a mile of a major residential community that, until now, has been considered one of the premier communities of its kind in the nation, demonstrates how ill-advised this course of action would be. The permit for this quarry need to be denied in order to protect the environment, safety, health and general welfare of all the citizens of Lee County.

This is a very bad idea. There are no positive results to this and many probable negative ones. It benefits only the few owners and will cost many Lee County residents. Rte 87 was widened to provide easier access between Fayetteville/Sanford/Raleigh. Now you want to put a major blockage point on the road. Why cut Sanford off from the South? Property values - down Noise pollution - up Air pollution - up Traffic problems- up Potential damage to homes/foundations - up Wear and tear on roads - up (ironic since the gravel may be used in fixing Raleigh roads) You are hurting solid tax paying residents of Southern Lee County for the benefit of the few. It makes no sense.

I am a resident in Carolina Trace and I am opposed to this quarry. Besides the environmental impact the traffic from additional trucks will be horrible.

Do not turn Lee County into the arm pit of North Carolina

Please - NO Quarry! I have lived near one (5 miles away) and it was filthy and noisy.

I am a resident and property owner in Carolina Trace. I oppose this quarry for several reasons including environmental impact, traffic safety impact of trucks entering Hwy. 87, and negative impact on property values in and around Carolina Trace.

This Quarry is not good for the community.

This is next to my property. I am on well water and just spent over $5,000 on a new well. This could lower our water table and affect our drinking water. I oppose this quarry.

I have lived by a quarry in New Jersey and the white stone dust in my house was not good for our health!
