No to the Broompark Development!

For all the same reasons that have been previously mentioned and for the underhand way in which the developer is tackling this. Notice of meetings sent out as junk mail, sending ill-prepared representatives to the meetings so they can't answer questions, incorrect dates on the flyer and I am told that he hasn't even followed the correct procedures.

The roads can't cope as it is nor schools or medical centre and I heard that bus service is to be reduced so I think so more houses is a No No.

The infrastructure will not support additional housing and would lead to traffic problems. It will damage the local environment

I decline this housing development going ahead due to the over crowding it will bring and the gridlock traffic,also the wildlife it shall destroy

I object to the expansion development linking between mid and east Calder. The congestion in the village is unbearable enough with traffic, never mind considering the doctors surgery, school and nurseries and other facilities for long term resistants who now have trouble receiving their health care and the better education with no sign of expanding the facilities. We can't keep throwing up houses and not considering the facilities compensate us. Also considering we will lose all the lovely greenery surrounding us. Its so sad it's losing its 'village's name. So sad you hardly recognise the person walking past you down the street. Its the simple things that make home home.

I object as roads, infrastructure, facilities through schools, health care and the growing congestion is a major problem and will only get worse. The conditions of the roads are shocking with so many pot holes on the main roads as you come out of east calder and the back roads of east calder too. Congestion is a major problem.

So taking away another green area is the answer. There are so many derelict office space out there. Why not demolish them and use that land for building houses. Where are kids meant to play if there is no green area for them

This beautiful piece of land should not be ruined. How long until we have barely any countryside left around the Calders?

The roads, the drains, the doctors, the residents can’t cope with any more housing . The facilities and access are at breaking point already

Far too many houses in the village no longer a village and the roads and infrastructure can't take any more

No more houses until roads upgraded...... please..... will be totally gridlocked at peak times, bad enough now!!!!

East calder and mid calder don't have the infrastructure to cope with more houses the road network can not cope with the amount of traffic now never mind with a further 600

1.This is destroying the village of East Calder's identity by merging with MidCalder and the village as such will be swamped in the Livingston connurbation. 2. There is inadequate road capacity in this area and around the traffic lights and congestion and blocking with buses,HGVs,parked cars occurs daily especially at rush hour. The facilities and amenities will be stretched even further. 3. Already we are seeing a huge cut in the bus service leading to more cars and congestion for access and parking in this area and the whole village. 4. A new school was refused though initially promised and already the child population is much higher due to the other new huge estates in the village. Bussing is not appropriate for these new higher numbers of children. The existing school is very old and needs replaced. 5.There is inadequate parking already in the village especially in and near the main street. This will worsen considerably. 6.The Medical Practice is already too small and over subscribed. 7. The beautiful green fringe to the village, which adds greatly to the amenity and attractiveness of the village will be destroyed . 8.This area is full of wildlife so the wildlife dependant on this will be destroyed or excluded ,including deer, very varied bird life and in the area are pools and areas with great crested newts.

Infrastructure cannot cope at the moment, never mind with 660 extra households. Health services, roads, schools. Not sufficient services to support this development.

I believe the building of 600 houses "linking" mid and East Calder is a bad idea. Traffic is already bad between the 2 villages. Its taking green space away from the villages - one of the main reasons the current residents love living here. The doctors surgery is already stretched with no signs of expansion. We've already had a lot of changes in terms of Calderwood and Seven Wells. We just don't want these houses too. Both villages will lose their identity I reckon!

East Calder does not have the road system nor infrastructure to cope with any more development. Also it is short sighted of West Lothian council to keep decimating green/ wooded areas for short term gain. Take a long hard look at built up highly populated areas, crime rates, lack of community spirit and a sense of futility are rife; is that really the sort of future we want to bequeath generations to come?

A71 too busy already. Doctors surgery overstretched as well as schools. These facilities cannot cope with any more housing being built in this area.

So East Calder and Mid Calder become one and loose their individual identities. But my main concern is their is no infrastructure in place for more new housing, which would result in busier roads, schools and doctors surgery. Time to put the needs of existing residents first before even considering new houses.

The congestion issues between the 2 villages are bad just now but will be made worse by additional housing. Also there’s is insufficient number of schools and dr surgeries to be able to handle the influx of people. It would ruin the 2 villages by joining them together.
