At the current rate of building there will be no greenbelt left. What provision is being made for the roads to be able to cope with extra traffic. A71 cannot cope already. Leave villages as villages. People move out here for the greenery and to get out of towns.

I oppose the development due to the infrastructure of the roads not being able to handle the additional volume, added pressure on gp dentist schools and most importantly the wildlife that will loose their homes

There is no infrastructure to accommodate any more houses and I was under the impression that there is supposed to be a distinctive demarcation between the two villages hence the reason the fields are there.

Totally against the joining of our two villages which would result in both losing their unique identies. Also the infrastructure would not support any additional housing. Not to mention the detrimental effect on wildlife.

Please no the roads on the area are already over congested and this would be the worst area to build on as in between the 2 villages.

Joining of East and Mid Calder is against the Local Development Plan Policy which is against joining local villages together,( the Broom Park Development would do) which takes away the automony of each village.

Various reasons to object to this: Mid calder is a conservation village with a huge history behind it - there will be no gap between the old village and new, modern houses; bus services are being cut/reduced; the benefit to nature of having a quiet, safe area; GP surgery not being able to cope; road structure not coping; schools not being adequate; the presence of mine workings in this area could mean mortgage agencies will not consider it, so there may be a mass of houses standing empty. As a lay person, I can't think of one positive so why can't the council/developers?

East Calder and Mid Calder are still an attractive proposition for residents. They are both a village with all the beauty that brings. More houses just make it as bad as livingston which is just a concrete jungle. Leave well alone

The calders are overpopulated, with too few services available (schools, health etc).
Infrastructure of services needs to be sorted FIRST before any residential development is even considered
