No to the Broompark Development!

Why when the land below is all mine shafts. Why spoil what countryside is left

For years that area was used to grow trees,there's still deer running about there ,now a proposed site for housing that East Calder cannot support.East Calder has always been a small community village and now it's becoming overwhelmed with housing!We do not have the amenities to support such growth!

Keep the wildlife habitat & the open space. Far too much traffic going thru the village as it is.

This is a greenspace with benefit wildlife that could benefit the community. Landowners have already direspected the community through wilful distruction of wooded areas, resulting in a fine and no action to restore. Additonally this is clearly for profit, the land is former mining and unstable, the existing infrastructure, services etc already struggle with recent rapid growth. There will be no definition between towns and loss of community. This is not beneficial development, is unwanted and the area is deserving of better investment into community space and infrastructure before further development.

There is not the room on the existing roads nor infrastructure set up to cope with this development. Building on this land will kill vital wildlife and forna, which has been allowed to flourish over the years. The road through the Conservation village of Mid Calder cannot cope with the traffic going through it as it is.

These old communities always have had their own identities and that's one part of why we shouldn't have houses there The other reason is the road infrastructure and other facilities are not equipped for any more housing Do we really Need more houses there has been enough at the other end of East calder!!!!

Existing infrastructure is really going to struggle with this development, roads are inadequate, go build on Bangour

The area will not cope with so many more houses. I am against this development. I moved to this area to come somewhere quieter and greener but it is being ruined.

Still waiting on new schools to be built. No point in building more houses till the villages can handle more people

In 2007 Sterling Developments proposed the Calderwood Development to include a new High School, shopping Hub, Medical Centre and Cemetery, we'll we got the Cemetery? The services and infrastructure within the community cannot support another 600 plus houses. Joining together East and Mid Calder Villages is ethically not justifiable both socially and historically?

One of the few areas that still has a strong village and community feeling will be lost. There are so many other more suitable areas which would not cause added pressure on roads, schools, medical centre to name a few, not to mention the impact to wildlife. It is not all about money and would be good to have the feelings of locals listened to.

This development will destroy the individuality of Mid and East Calder taking away valuable green space between the villages

This would be a dreadful place for houses i often see deer and hawks on this land

The roads on and out of East/Mid Calder couldn't handle all the extra traffic. Also trying to get a doctor's appointment is bad enough at the moment.

I'm against this because there are no plans to improve the roads in the village. It's impossible to get out/in at rush hour, and time and time again the council are putting their balance sheets before the welfare of the residents of East and Mid Calder

Infrastructure cannot support these houses...not enough school places , doctors , will be too much traffic ,parking already a nightmare .

East calder facility can not copy with more houses.

Until improvements are made eg bus service, road access to & from Edinburgh, new doctor's surgery, to name but a few, this village can't cope with more residents!

Our village cannot support all these new developments will no one listen ?

Far too many houses being built already. The poor wildlife!! There is no way the doctors surgery will cope it's struggling as it is.
