Please press pause on this policy. There needs to be consultation with land owners about SNA’s on private land, not just a mail drop saying this is happening!

My native bush is mine because I purchased it not the council. We have our Kiwi population monitored all the time. What will happen to them?

This concept is flawed. Where is the stakeholder input. NRC & FNDC please do better! We all want to look after the whenua, but not wirh this ill conceived model.

Government needs to review the whole approach to conservation. The program Fight for the Wild gives you all the clues you need : we need more people on the ground doing the mahi, more people in the bush, checking traps while growing food. SNAs and reserves are outdated concepts for the future of the human/nature relationship. Although reserves are currently necessary to preserve the few remaining endangered species we have, keeping human activity separate from native bush is not the answer
