Most of the trash is left by tubers, usually drunken tubers.

The negative effects we have seen on this river during the past several years are disgusting. Please adopt Senate Bill 234.

A worthy cause that deserves appropriate attention as proposed in SB 234.

Self-policing doesn't work. It's time to let the grown-ups in.

The trash is overwhelming. It's ridiculous to do the same thing (allow self-policing) and expect something different.

The amount of trash in the river is staggering. Besides the trash in the form of cans, cooler, tubes and clothes, it is very hard to find a descent place to take our scouts without running into crazy alcohol consumption. I think making this river a park or limiting the amount of trash will go a long way.

Having pulled several car loads of trash last year out of the river while kayaking this section, I can say the data shows the current method of control is not working well. There needs to be some system of rules and enforcement to help keep the river clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Hopefully, this will be the right tool that will begin to take control of this mess.

We miss going to the river .It became to rowdy for us to take children .We would love to see it like it was before. Have a lot of great memories there

There is NO reason to let this River turn into the same mess our other local rivers are.

Drunks will drive... Drunks will litter... Sad how they have destroyed what was a pristine area just a few years back.

The private self policing is not working! Let's keep this Texas treasure clean for the enjoinment of all Texans. Please support this bill.

I participated in numerous river clean-ups of the San Marcos over the years. The trash problem has gotten progressively worse. It is now to the point of being repulsive. The tubers are often beligerent, drunk and profane. I suppor the proposed legislation and will continue to preserve the San Marcos river as the jewel it once was. (signed) MPortman 5-8-15

The very health of our unique river must be protected. My observation of the affected tubing companies over many years well illustrates the overwhelming lack of interest in the San Marcos Rivers health; rather their interest is financial. It would be a gross miscarriage of justice to place the tubbing companies in charge of their own self policing of the river... I urge you to vote NO on this HB! Kita Scull RNC-WHNP-BC

If the outfitters were able to police themselves they would have done so already.

This would be relative to the fox policing the hen house. If proponents of the "private plan" were responsible and trustworthy, there wouldn't be a problem to start with.

Those who profit most from overcrowding the river are not competent or financially compelled to manage it.
