I really think a funeral home is inappropriate for this eclectic and artistic neighborhood, also the traffic is terrible anyway!

The location is next to a dollar store, Wendy's and a crummy gas station. It is located on the border between the good part of highlands and the bad. Dons has also been closed for years and it's ridiculous to think this is a bad idea for any reason. It would be much better for some kind of business to be active in this part of town than to see it remain empty. Also there is an over saturation of restaurants in the area and it bugs me
this will cause a traffic nightmare on a street that is already a mess.

I live and work close to this intersection. The funeral home will create pockets of intense traffic congestion. Let's try a business that will spread traffic out over the day AND provide a useful service for the neighborhood.

I object to a funeral home at the corner of Kings Hwy and Highland Ave. I live a few blocks from there and that would only cause more conjestion than is already there.

As a resident just one block from this location on a street that is already used as a cut through street to avoid Kings Hwy I object to the exception of something that is going to further congest traffic.

I believe that this is an incompatible use for this intersection and spot zoning it in creates ongoing, irreversible problems for the neighborhood and the closest residential neighbors. I am opposed to this zoning request.

Kings Hwy between Byrd High School and Centenary College is one of the most congested streets in Shreveport. As a resident within a mile of the proposed rezoning, I strongly object to any effort that would increase the volume of traffic on Kings Hwy, and the surrounding side streets. Stopping traffic for funeral processions will add to the congestion and will create a spillover of Kings Hwy traffic to neighborhood streets in an effort to go around the blockage. SPD can attest to the number of speeding tickets already given on Highland and Creswell due to the Byrd High School traffic. Adding traffic to an already congested area creates a safety and security hazard for the neighborhood.

Kings Hwy it's narrow, congested and in need of tragic help currently. Adding a funeral home, complete with lines of escorted funeral processions and you will drive thru traffic further into the neighborhood onto purely residential streets. Please don't allow this.

I vote NO to the rezoning of Don's Seafood. Driving down Kings Highway between Line Avenue and Centenary is already a nightmare regardless of the time of day. If this got approved, it'd backed up for days. The only way I could ever see this happening is if they widened Kings Highway to 5 lanes, which we know will never happen with the city's stellar dedication to maintaining its infrastructure...
