In such a densely populated area, combined with the current Terror Situation we all face + the Volatile nature of LNG, especially if an explosion occurs over Open Water. This is Totally Unsafe in My View.

An LNG facility, whether for generating power or for LNG storage, must NOT be located anywhere near to densely populated areas. A large percentage of the population of Gibraltar lives in close proximity to the North Mole and the port area. Gibraltar's ONLY General Hospital is in the vicinity of the proposed LNG power plant as are several schools. Unless a viable alternative location can be found, FAR AWAY FROM RESIDENTIAL AREAS, a power station fuelled by LNG (as well as the necessary LNG storage tanks) will always be considered by most of the people to be a totally unrealistic solution for the generation of power in Gibraltar.
However LOW the RISK of an "accident" occurring, involving LNG, the devastating CONSEQUENCES of an LNG "accident" would be CATASTROPHIC to life, buildings and infrastructure.
LNG FOR GIBRALTAR IS not just undesirable but UNACCEPTABLE.

Totally agree that proposed location is inappropriate.

LNG storage is too complex and unsafe. IF that one in a thousand accident occurs, it will incinerate everyone in the area.

Too many risks - proposed site is in an urban area. There have been many incidents in the past 4 years of fires/explosions attributed to LNG.

Disgusted that a government can start building this without independent safety reports being carried out. Human error always exists and regardless of how low the risk may be the consequence of an explosion is huge and would take out a third of Gibraltar,
