The IFC Fitness Centre is a well-run gym thanks to the efforts of the staff in the Fitness Centre. Outsourcing seems unnecessary just for the sake of it

At a time of so many changes, it would be great if the place where we go to de-stress remains constant. The relationship which we have built with instructors who are aware of our health history, contributes to our well-being.

The gym is our lifesaver and one of the very few opportunities to enjoy some sort of work-life balance. Outsourcing it at this point will only commercialize the operation and take away the "family feel" that keeps me going back.

I have used this gym to recover from TWO spinal surgeries suffered on missions and FOUR surgeries to repair the damage. Without this gym and its helpful, knowledgeable staff I would noit be able to work the 60+ hours this job demands.

The IFC/World Bank Fitness Center teams are far superior in terms of quality, reliability and professionalism than the staffs of nearly all of the commercial gyms I have attended over fifteen years in the WDC area. The WBG fitness facilities are one area of the WBG that are working highly effectively; GSD should be looking elsewhere for other functions to outsource and achieve efficiency gains.

I completely agree and sincerely salute the excellent work of the Fitness Specialists who are conducting physcial fitness classes at the World Bank. These colleagues possess highly professional fitness training..some are Layers, MA in Physical Education; Physical Therapists; and Masters Degrees in related physical fitness university programs. All these colleagues share their expertise by demonstrating to all participants to these physical fitness exercises how physical fitness exercise work for them.and how to maintain good health. It is remarkable that the Fitness Center offers over 70 classes a week during different times of the day taught by Bank volunteers; and Fitness Center Staff. And only 5% are taught by outside instructors. There are appears to be substantive savings derived from the "free" time..and professional expertise-- that is offered to the Bank to conduct physical fitness exercises. Is there a credible evidence that this type of service can/could be better performed better by hiring instructors from other fitness facilities outside the World Bank? Your response to these concerns would help me-- and probably - other participants in physical fitness exercises the reasons for these unnecesary unsettling situations to our Fitness Instructors and colleagues. Personally, I am very satisfied with the methods used by the physical fitness instructors. And would be very unhappy to lose them. . Thank you for your consideration.

Pls outsource anything else but not the gym. The good work the staff do keep many of us healthy which I am sure saves the WBG a lot of money!!!!
