We cannot compromise on this as it will affect our patients who are our #1 priority. We cannot have insurance companies have a loophole on their reporting. There needs to be full transparency for the most accurate DLR.

I am deeply disappointed with the ADA support for this NCOIL document. This document will be weaponized by the insurance industry to undercut and subvert meaningful DLR legislation. The ADA should represent dentists by supporting full transparency and accountability of insurance companies which,in turn, benefits patients. Premiums paid by subscribers are for treatment, not gross administrative costs. Please remove all ADA support from this document. Support dentists, not the insurance companies.

I am signing this just to be able to comment. They cannot back out of the NCOIL agreement - NCOIL has worked with the ADA in dentist and patients favor with things like pre authorizations and paying claims with gift cards that the dentist has to eat 3-5% of.
If they back out of the NCOIL agreement, the ADA is not perceived as an honest broker to work with in the future and we have a lot of battles ahead.
It was a negociation. It’s better in some ways for us and worse in some ways for us. The major thing it does it gets this DLR done faster in more states.

I'm sorry that ADA policy and governance structure did not allow staff the negotiating room they felt they needed, but policy needs to be followed and the NCOIL language that the ADA agreed to does not reflect the will of the House of Delegates.

The ADA needs to step up for the profession of dentistry in this time of inflation. They need to hold insurance companies accountable and Follow rates appropriately. The dentist and patient should not be hurt from their inaction.

This move by the ADA is egregious and harmful to the efforts of dentists and voters who opted to have money for dental care go to dental care. Massachusetts voters voted! The ADA does not have the right to negate their vote.
Please reverse this immediately or I will be pulling my membership and putting all monies in the the Alliance for Independent Dentists.
