TO THE NEW YORK STATE SLA:
AS RESIDENTS OF THE WEST VILLAGE WHO LIVE NEAR and in the MEAT PACKING DISTRICT, WE ASK YOU TO DENY an application for a full on premises liquor license to Palais de Michaelangelo ( 1-3 Little West 12thStreet on Gansevoort Plaza). The Meat Packing area has an overwhelming amount (33 plus) of liquor licenses. Our community has endured a decreased quality of life as the result of so many licensed establishments . We have suffered many sleepless nights due to honking vehicular traffic and crowds of often drunk patrons on our residential streets.
Community Board 2 turned this license down JULY 2013. How does this late night white-dining establishment serve the public interest? We have so many similar licensed establishments now?
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE AREA IS SO CONGESTED THAT, IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE NYPD HAVE TAKEN TO SHUTTING STREETS THAT LEAD INTO THE MEPA. THE LAST THING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD NEEDS IS ANOTHER LIQUOR LICENSE TO BRING IN ADDITIONAL VEHICLES. Even the street where this place wants to locate has been closed during weekends.

I spent another sleepless night listening to the chaos outside my window and it only confirms why we need to stop this new license. I am currently gathering more footage of the traffic gridlock to show officials that this street simply cannot handle another business.

Seeing this grow makes me feel like I am finally being heard by those who also call this neighborhood home. Watching so many of you echo the exhaustion I feel every night gives me hope that we can keep our streets quiet and safe.

we dont need another bar in this neighborhood. i can barely sleep at night as it is due to the current chaos.
Enough is enough. The noise and the crowds are already way too much for a residential area. Deny this license!
Ridiculous. Look at all the other bars on that street. Why would you add more to this cluster??
33 licenses is already way too many. give the residents a break for once.
Keep the neighborhood livable please. No more liquor licenses.

im sick of the meatpacking being turned into a complete zoo. leave us alone.
