After attending several public hearing meetings, the petitions seeking variances from existing zoning laws fail to answer a critical question regarding density impact including beach access. Gary’ proposal seeks to use the beach access on the south which provides access to one of the most narrow parts of the beach. Granting variance will also forever change the charm of the island. We purposely bought here for what SK is not ... not over crowded and not over commercialized. I urge the county to reject these requests.

This would be a negative change to the Island for years to come. Density Issues, Traffic Issues, Environmental Issues! Hard to keep the beaches clean now. The Condos are making it impossible to walk on the beach. The traffic have the roads and bridges backed up and horrendous. No room for a safe bike or pedestrian route. Just terrible how is homeowners are getting screwed. We are not nor do we want to be a Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Clearwater! Just sad this is even entertained to get approval.

Adding a hotel to Siesta is taking away what makes this place so special. There are plenty of hotels to stay in Sarasota. Please keep Siesta magical and special.
