Totally and unequivocally against this

Doesn't seem this change is in the best interest of our Savannah Hills kids. A longer ride to school, earlier bus pickup most likely and later arrival home. There has got to be a better way

Do NOT send my kids across town. We bought in Savannah Hills specifically for the schools. It is unfair to us and the value of our property to make such a change.

This is a terrible idea for families with multiple children having to go to multiple different schools!

Not exactly happy about the fact that we will have to change schools for the next three years for my then 4th grader. It seams as if the boundaries could be adjusted to accommodate Evans school vs singling out Savannah hills. Evans is the furthest school location. For a working family this makes it incredibly difficult to adjust scheduling to ensure that the children's needs as well as that of the family are accommodated.

Where are the parents imputed? Why don't we have choices? If you pay the full taxes for the district, why don't you have a choice a voice. Deserve to have top rated elementary schools across the board? If you want to balance it out and make them even, then let the parents have a say on how to go about doing that!!!

I do not agree with the zoning changes and do not feel any consideration has been given or presented towards the well being of the children impacted. As a military family we move a lot so changing schools is not that difficult for my children, but changing because of a low population school is needing higher attendance records, or because the school performance is so poorly rated on the national scale that bringing more children might increase your overall school performance are not sound reasons for affecting these children. Think you better rethink the strategy here.

My daughter has attended Marie Schaeffel elementary for the last two years and has formed a solid foundation there. The proposed changes make no sense. We will have to drive thru 2 school zones including passing her current school to send her to an elementary with a record of poor performance and under achieving. Not to mention the open school concept is ridiculous and in the case of my daughter would not be an idle situation to create good learning for her; especially given the schools continuous record of having the lowest performance. If your goal is to lower learning levels then continue with this non sense otherwise don't ask people to make change just so the county/state save money.

I would like to know the justification behind singling out and bussing these two neighborhoods to Evans when everyone around us would be attending other elementary schools. Additionally, what is the educational justification with the backing of research to justify a 5th grade center?

Board Members; Our family does not support Attendance Centers nor the rezoning proposal as is. 1st, I would like the committee to share all possible solutions not merely the one they endorse. 2d, I would like the committee to prove how Attendance Centers result in positive and measurable increased academics and/or social development for the students affected. I have not seen any such published reports nationwide. What is the motive for establishing Attendance Centers? What happened to smooth and continuous school boundaries? Crossing two school zones/boundaries and skirting the edge of the 3d before arriving at assigned school is absolutely unacceptable! Our children are not pawns for your social experiments!

District 90 should be more transparent about their plans for rezoning. I have searched and can only find information that was proposed last April, then deferred. Accordingly, I am responding only to what I have read here on the iPetitions and have heard from others in the community. I understand needing to rezone due to school overcrowding; however, the current plan is extremely flawed. Students who currently attend EK or Moye are much closer proximity to Laverna Evans than students in Savannah Hills or Stone Briar. From what I understand, the rationale for moving Savannah Hills and Stone Briar to Evans is to ensure that each of the O'Fallon District 90 schools serves students of diverse economic backgrounds. SH and SB are included in the new Evans zoning to incorporate neighborhoods with higher levels of economic prosperity. However, shifting the proposed zoning lines to encompass areas just north of the current Evans zone and into the Moye/Kapmeyer zones would bring an equivalent amount of economic diversity to Evans...and the students from those neighborhoods would not have to be bused across three other school boundaries to get to their "home" school. Get smart, O'Fallon. This proposal is NOT the answer.

We bought our house so our sons could attend the best schools. We made sacrifices to ensure we would make that happen. These proposed boundaries and schools fail to take that into consideration. The proposed school does not meet the expectations I had when moving to OFallon for my sons education. I am sure that I am not the only parent in the same situation.

This School Board DOES NOT care about you, your family, or the value of your home, and they need TO GO! They are doing what is easiest for them. Ask yourselves these questions: Do any of the school board members live in our neighborhood? (NO) Will this impact their family or their home value? (NO) If they do have school age children, will they be sending them to Evans? (You can guess the answer to this)

Shows no foresight and common sense by the school board. Our kids and property values suffer due to their incompetency.

Why would we punish these kids from Savannah Hills and Stone Brior by shipping them all the way across the town of O'Fallon

You should all go to the school board meeting on Tuesday night. The decision has not been made until the board approves it. Let the board know that you don't want them to approve it. 7:00 Fulton Jr High
