The greed for money continues to spoil the beauty and charm of this key. Development can be beneficial but in this case merely destructive to the key and to its residents and tourists. Protect the paradise that is siesta key. Please!!!

The reason we and everyone we know love Siesta Key is that it is small and special. Leave the big hotel developments to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. We do NOT need them here and they will ruin it and replace longtime visitors and families with obnoxious spring breakers.

This should not happen. It would completely ruin the quaintness of what the key has always been about. As someone who grew up and went through school here since 1959 it's already been overdeveloped since the late 60's. The bridges on both ends already can't handle the traffic and and neither can the mostly residential neighborhoods.
If this happens many will leave this city. It's insane and nothing but greed.

A large part of the charm of Siesta Key is its small scale. It is quaint. We like quaint. We are here because we don't like beaches that are flanked by walls of high rise buildings. We are here because we don't like the traffic and crowded beaches that come with those walls of high rise buildings.
This little slice of heaven is not for sale to developers.

As someone who has lived in Sarasota for well over 30 years and siesta key, point of rocks I am unable to identify one project that has benefited our island. Example is the public beach pavilion and parking renovation. Less space considerably less function and certainly did nothing to beautify with the blocking large design elements. Ruined the best beach in America
