  • The residents of Logan Woods are in a battle to save the character and integrity of their neighborhood. A property owner on Cherry Wood Drive is seeking to rezone his land and change the density to allow 44 (!!!!) homes to be built on his 17.5 acres. Currently, only ONE single family home is allowed per 2.25 acres. The parcels of land in this community are a MINIMUM of 1.14 acres, and we are vehemently opposed to allowing this change. Cherry Wood Drive currently has 39 homes in total, and this project would add 44 to the middle of the street! If this proposal is approved by Growth Management and Collier County Commissioners, it will set a precedent for future alterations of land use and density. The main reason owners buy homes in this type of community is specifically because of the acreage, the wildlife, the ability to use our property as we see fit, and the unique character all of this provides. There is no NEED for a group of tightly compacted homes to be built, and the proposal goes against the current and future land use regulations for Golden Gate Estates. Please support us and sign our petition that we will be presenting to the Collier County Commission.
