Say NO to the "Swim with the Tuna" experience at Victor Harbor, say NO to aquaculture on the Fleurieu.

This will ruin Victor as a family holiday destination to satisfy the ambitions of a few people only.

Strongly against this proposal on the grounds of potential negative impact on community safety & lack of positive out comes one might expect from the development. It's the wrong place for this.

Please don't destroy our town lifestyle and beaches with a stupid tuna farm that will end up turning everyone away due to being unsafe to enjoy

Attracting sharks to a populated swimming area and enticing them to associate people with a common food source is a rediculous and dangerous idea propagated by an ill-advised short-term financial pursuit.

we have been coming to Victor Harbor from Germany for eighteen years. One should not risk this great Environment dear to us, our children and Grand-children

In a top tourist town this is an uncalled for disturbance to the natural ecosystem in the Victor Harbor Bay. A concentration of tuna will be associated with an increase in jellyfish, predators and worst of all pollution of the sea floor. Penguins, which are nearly gone, will be under even more pressure from predators attracted to the "fish fun farm"

Entirely agree with all comments. Victor Harbor does not need a tuna net to attract tourists. Please don't mess with the beautiful environment, both land and sea, already there.

My major concerns relate to: Perception of shark attraction and negative effects on tourism and enjoyment of water sports Damage to sea floor by tuna waste Caging of wild animals for human entertainment A mirroring of the deleterious effects of a Tuna Pen witnessed at Ballina, NSW, with dramatic loss of tourism and closure of the Surf Club there

This needs to be stopped. It will ruin he community.

The locals and beach house owners are fiercely opposed to this- listen to your voters

This organised plan/disaster just can not happen/be approved!

These tuna nets attract seals who in turn attract sharks !! Victor for the first time is attracting natural tuna off our coastline. We don't want to catch their food source AUSTRALIAN sardines to feed to caged Tuna ! Thanks John

A negative impact on the perception of Victor/Pt Elliot as safe swimming and surfing destination is likely with flow on effect to the local accommodation, food and tourism industries. The pollution from Tuna excrement is also expected to affect the local beaches.

I spend a lot of time in the water surfing at Middleton not to far from Victor Harbor. If Tuna Tourism brings more sharks into the area it will increase the chance of being attacked.

Having studied and worked in the aquaculture industry, I have concerns about the environmental impact of this venture.

Bring in more sharks and then they will want to cull the sharks !! This is a lose - lose situation

Terrible idea

Tuna will bring in the big sharks. Shame on all of the so called Pollies. Looking after there own intest $$$ and caring very little of the general public health and safety. Vote them out. The local Lib guy didn't even reply my concern letter about the increase shark activity and the tourist Minister , Labor guy sent back a return letter stating that the pens at Lincoln have been running for years and there been no issue. He must have forgot the lad who got his leg bitten off surfing on a beach not far away from the tuna pens! Warning: next on the radar is bring in the cage diving with sharks at North Page island off the coast of Victor Harbor. Hucky.
