"NO" to a MEN's Shelter in our area--Wyckoff/Hart Street, Bushwick BK

I do not want to live near a homeless shelter. This area is upcoming and this would completely ruin all the local businesses. Not only is it a high traffic area, there is a very important park to the neighborhood and an elementary school right nearby. This would be horrible.

We need today to stop this for the kids !!!!

This is not a smart location for this. The park down the street, across from the school, already has enough issues and overcrowding without this addition. There are already real issues with women being harassed and intimidated in this area.

No more SHELTERS for Bushwick.

I live across the street from this building. Was under the impression it was commercial space. Hard no to any kind of shelter.

I am shocked to have not been made aware of this until now. 97 Wyckoff is directly across the street from my beloved residence; I can see in the windows - and vice versa - of 97 Wyckoff from my home. At the absolute least, the members of this community deserve the opportunity to speak our voices and object to this project. Wyckoff Avenue is a vibrant commercial and residential street, and this shelter (while necessary) will unquestionably negatively impact the neighborhood. I staunchly oppose.

This shelter presents a clear and present danger to our students and their families.

There are too many shelters in Bushwick! We already carry our fair share!

We already have enough shelters in our neighborhood. This neighborhood needs more police activity, more fire stations, more libraries, more garbage collection, more schools, more hospitals, etc. Why the DHS don’t build a shelter next to Trump Tower, or on the billionaires row in Manhattan. There are other places that are not residential and a shelter would fit really well. We want our tax money be used to make our neighborhood more safe and a nice place to live.

There a little children school near by . Most of the men who will live there have some type of criminal record . I say no to this .

My 6year old goes to the elementary down the block, this doesn’t feel safe at all.

Something that so intimately affects our community cannot be allowed to happen like it is right now, under cover of boarded up windows and with the sheer brute force of politicians who are aware how their decisions do not affect them personally, or how they may even benefit from making decisions without seeking input from their constituents.

This is not okay in my neighborhood! There’s schools nearby, residences and businesses.

Something such as this that is in a heavily populated community should never be decided without the majority approval of the neighborhood and it's surrounding businesses.

No shelter by our school!!!!!

You will attract drug dealers and gang members to the area even if the men themselves are not felons. Evil preys on the weak.

I don’t feel it’s safe for children women & our community

A men shelter will put our children in danger. We do not have any idea of what type of crminal they will put to live at that shelter.
