no such thing as assault, weapon just a media name given to semi-auto (one pull, one round fired) politicians need a class in weapons so they understand even s pencil can be classified as an assault weapon

why would you want good people who fallow folks the law to not be armed. its our given right to have the same as any army can have. you have sworn in to protect the constitution. i insist that you do so. stop plucking at weapons taking and start working on the real problem. the kids of today need proper guidance.

I say no to the assault weapons ban, 3/20 there was a school shooting in, MD the assault weapons ban wouldn't have helped, it was a handgun. A armed officer in the school, with a gun, stopped the shooter. Good guy with a gun is the surest way to stop a bad guy with a gun.

I'm sick of all these attacks on our second amendment rights. At 18 you're either an adult or you're not, if you can vote or go to war you should be able to own a gun. Parents can't "give permission" because the 18 - 20 year olds are already adults not under their parent's control.
Enough with trying to ban "assault weapons" and "high capacity magazines." You are using these names incorrectly. The way you stop any assault (see, it can be used as a noun!) is with an effective defense. Armed guards would help with the vulnerability problem at the schools but the best defense is to abolish the "gun free zones" where most mass shootings occur. Then teachers, principals, and other personnel who otherwise qualify for a CCDW permit can react immediately to the threat and end it right away.
The guns you are proposing to ban are some of the best weapons available for defending one's home or liberty. The "high capacity magazines?" Well it would suck to run out of ammo while the criminals assaulting you still have 20 more rounds since they obtained their weapons illegally, wouldn't it? These guns standard capacity is 30 rounds, the 10 round mags you try to force on us are "reduced capacity." This ban only affects law abiding citizens, like any "gun control." Please abandon this recent assault (Noun again!) on our freedom.

This bill will harm the innocent, responsible law abiding citizens who believe in the 2d Amendment. This bill will not stop those whose intent is to harm others from getting these weapons.

This ban will do absolutely nothing to stop criminals from getting and using guns and will only penalize law abiding citizens who currently have these guns and keep them for personal reasons. The second amendment is second only to the first and is placed there because of it's importance to the personal rights and liberties of the citizens to protect and defend themselves against those who would do them harm.
