It is completely disingenuous of BAA to threaten that this country will fall behind in business if we don't increase capacity. Domestic flights should be priced higher than train fares to reduce use and then there would be adequate capacity. Also the roads leading to the airport cannot cope as it is and there are no plans for proper public transport to and from t he aiport. The noise is intolerable and even with so called quieter planes this will not improve and the pollution is at dangerous levels already.

Heathrow is already too crowded and the area cannot cope with further congestion. In addition any further noise pollution is unacceptable, it is bad enough already. The Thames Estuary could be developed with far less impact on residents' lives

We need big thinking and investment for the future, not a sticking plaster that won't be up to the job and cause lots of misery to local residents in the meantime.

I now have noisy planes going overhead regularly late at night on a Saturday. We must NOT build a 3rd or 4th runway at Heathrow.

The lives of residents around Heathrow are already blighted by the existing air traffic levels. it is simply unacceptable to increase this misery. Expansion of of other London airports is the only solution

Crazy to expand Heathrow. It's about time a government took the tough decision to build a world-class airport elsewhere

I utterly oppose the third runway. The attempts to convince us all that so many more planes will go over our heads but we won't notice are insuklting as is the suggestion that we simply wear ear defenders or have our houses further soundproofed.

NO to the third runway. Will be impossible for those living in SW London....traffic conjestion and noise pollution will just be two of the inconveniences faced by locals. This is not a viable solution.

There must be no Heathrow expansion. It is an historical anomaluy that the arport is where it is, but its location is totally inappropriate for modern flights and travel.

Heathrow is already breaking the rules regarding night flights, and noise and air pollution This proposal would clearly exacerbate this further. Say no now!

We need more affordable housing near London not a bigger airport. Grow one of the other London airports and improve rail links of necessary.

We don't need more planes flying over London
