Boris has got it right - London's airport needs to be on the coast causing less pollution to us all, plus will regenerate the South East Coast rather than destroying the Green Belt around Heathrow, which is being built on at an alarming rate. Only Britain could be so shallow and short term about our beautiful countryside which should be treasured and preserved for the future generations.

Residents in Richmond Area are being subject to incessant flights . They start at 5-6am and late at night sometimes after 12pm.approx every 45 seconds. We are being poisoned by the fumes they jetitison as they pass over the Thames Valley. Many residents suffer with chest illness. The Green Party are surely supporting our action against the further runways at Heathrow.

An alternative to Heathrow should have been built years ago. Hurry up and make the only logical decision which benefits the rest of the UK not just London.

There is no room for further runways, the M25 is already too busy. I have missed and been late for every flight I have had there. I avoid it at all costs. This is a built up area and the noise pollution is already terrible. Investment and expansion should go to less affluent areas in the North of England.

Why are we killing everything around us? As many of our astute bloggers have commented; we have skype, we have email, we have facebook, we have text, we have mobiles. Why do we need to continually destroy our planet and the preservation on one's privacy and space by all jumping on and off polluting aircraft who roar over people's homes. We all know the airlines and airports are in for the profit and nothing else. What are we doing? Let's stop and let's plan how we can develop a environmentally alternative airport for when we just need to just get away on that holiday!

I have just moved out of my old flat as I could not stand the plane noise anymore. If expansion goes ahead I will once more find myself under neath a flight path and again be forced to move. Heathrow is in the wrong place and we should not be flyin gso many planes over such a densely populated area. It is madness!

If the UK requires more runways, either put on at Gatwick. Or develop Manchester. The London and SouthEast Area is far too crowded and gridlocked to be expected to house. Does it matter if Dubai for eg is a larger hub ? of course not!!

Dont compound problems generated by the ridiculous location of Heathrow. This isnt about a 3rd runway, its about the 4th 5th 6th etc. Bite the bullet and choose a site that can properly expand over the next 25 years - that isnt Heathrow

Do we need more planes when a vast majority are half empty? We need to cut flights not increase. Humans need to take responsibility and stop killing the planet. Also so many more areas will be impacted by air and noise pollution. Heathrow is in the wrong location to get bigger as surrounded by the most densely populated areas. I hope those making the decision see sense and decline any expansion at Heathrow.
