There are better solutions, such as expansion og Gatwick or even Stanstead airports

We never wanted to live near an airport, and noise from planes was never a problem. However in recent months we have had more and more low flying planes over her turning round to go back to Heathrow. Now getting low frequency rumble noiss from planes at 4am. I know we need an airport, I know it's good for jobs, but not to the extent of risking more collisions over large housing areas. Also what about the pollution issues. The higher pollution will be passed onto us to pay for in our use of cars, heating etc. All at the expense of those making the money.

I have grave concerns over the safety of any further expansion of Heathrow. As a North Ascot resident who has endured and is still enduring the noise from planes which had never flown at such low altitudes over our property pre flight trials, I have concerns over the number of planes flying over densely populated areas from very early in the morning to just before mid-night in some cases. Noise and pollution from Heathrow already affects a heavily populated area, more so than any other part of the UK. Why would it be consider right to further affect the residents and children's learning who are blighted by the current noise levels and deprive us of our basic human rights of a good night sleep, quieter skies and less pollution?

Heathrow noise causing great disturbance. It's been horrendous since the trials supposedly finished!

Heathrow already negatively impacts on its densely populated neighbourhood, with higher recorded incidences of disease, ill health, sleep disruption and damage to children's educational performance. Just as it has - for years - disabled London from realising its potential, by blighting the enjoyment, for millions, of some of London's most beautiful outdoor spaces. It's not just that Heathrow plans to become Europe's largest Hub airport, which means more long haul flights (larger, lower flying , noisier planes). Expansion is set to increase flights by 270,000 - an increase of 65% - meaning a higher frequency of noise disruption as well as higher peak noise, and the use of concentrated flight paths (that caused so much disruption, and led to unprecedented levels of complaints, in the recent trials) to free up more airspace. It seems extraordinary that's in the running when Gatwick's expansion would impact on just 4% of the number who would be adversely affected by yet more activity at Heathrow. Heathrow has already taken us to the limits of our tolerance. And now they wish to massively expand. Our view as longtime residents is, absolutely, that it shouldn't be permitted.
