Having lived in Old Windsor since 1954,I have noticed the noise generated get steadily worse and worse.I would not it to become any noisier.

The effects of either a third runway or an extension of the northern runway at Heathrow would be inoperable. The vast increase in air traffic which would result, apart from increasing aircraft noise for many people who were previously hardly affected, would put severe strains on an already massively over-loaded motorway, road and public transport system.

Flights noise and low flying aircraft are already a problem over Old Windsor and surrounding areas, with flights starting early in the morning and late at night - i.e. when people are trying to sleep. Expansion will increase flights and put severe strain on the roads around the airport. The expansion will also incur loss of villages and housing, much of which is very old and historic. It will also bring more noise into and around the royal residence of Windsor Castle, which is a tourist attraction and which now already has too many flights lumbering overhead. Air pollution and possible danger from bits fall off aircraft, vortex and possible crash over crowded areas could also increase.

The noise is already terrible. No more planes at Heathrow.

This proposal is not only ignorant but entirely selfish. Londoners have enough noise to cope with - any more would be intolerable.

Boris has got it right - London's airport needs to be on the coast causing less pollution to us all, plus will regenerate the South East Coast rather than destroying the Green Belt around Heathrow, which is being built on at an alarming rate. Only Britain could be so shallow and short term about our beautiful countryside which should be treasured and preserved for the future generations.
