Following the airspace modernisation trials it is obvious that further expansion of Heathrow would only add to the intrusive aircraft noise pollution of surrounding communities without any tangible benefits for those affected. Heathrow will continue to be an important player in the field of air travel as it stands.

Expansion of either the hours of operation or the number of runways at Heathrow would be intolerable for the local population and badly strain the local infrastructure. The pro-Heathrow expansion lobby are able to obscure the real effects of the expansion because of the improvements to aircraft, engines and the flight profiles.

If there has to be more flights to S/E England Gatwick gives a better service and position with only one runway at the moment, with plenty of room for a second runway and much less upheaval all round

In the past 4-5 months we have experienced unbearable levels of noise from the recent Heathrow trials. Despite being told these have finished we continue to experience noise despite not experiencing any before the recent trials. We purchased in this area because of the fact that there was no aircraft noise so to now be experiencing this and being persistently told by Heathrow that noise levels are normal for this area makes me absolutely furious. Heathrow must stop treating people in this are with contempt!
