Heathrow is the wrong airport in the wrong place. It needs to be phased out and shut down and it needs a government with guts and intelligence to face up to this truth.

Currently when the flight path runs over my house in West Ealing, I get low-flying planes interrupting my TV reception and causing my windows to shake every minute. I can put up with this inconvenience but DO NOT want this happening all day every day. I don't understand why you don't expand Gatwick- there are less residential areas to disturb and far more land to build onto without knocking down entire villages as is planned for the Heathrow expansion. Expand Gatwick!! It makes FAR more sense!

A 3rd runway at Heathrow will just add to the already chronic levels of congestion, noise and pollution in West London and has serious safety/security implications. It makes no sense and will not deliver the economic benefits claimed. It is simply not necessary. The majority of people in the UK want action on climate change and pollution. Surely now is the time to lead by example and say no!

a 3rd runway will result in an increase of noise, pollution, traffic, and get rid of a huge amount of housing. Is a third runway or even a hub airport necessary?

The noise from planes travelling overhead at my bedtime causes me great annoyance. A third runway would only aggravate this problem !

It is simply astounding to believe that increasing Heathrow can be justified when there is a perfectly good airport in Gatwick with superb links into London, crying out for expansion and development.

The UK economy aleady suffers from a grotesque geographical distortion with London & the South East dominating employment and wealth production to the detriment of the rest of the UK (and on the availability of housing in London). Yet the case for expanding Heathrow depends of actually increasing economic activity in London and around Heathrow with more damage to the surrounding enviroment (noise, pollution, congestion). It would make a great deal more sense to share the economic benefits of a major international airport by expanding or building an airport to the north of Heathrow which would be consistant with the "Northern Powerhouse" policies.

My life is blighted by the current noise levels as it is. Any more would quite simply be torture.

A third runway at Heathrow cannot be justified or sustained. Not only will many conservation areas be wiped out by this proposition, but the traffic in and around Heathrow/M25 and surrounding areas will be even further congested - they are already often driven to a standstill around the Hampton Court area by the knock-on effects of Heathrow-generated traffic. Far better to expand one or more northern airports to support the government's strategic 'northern powerh-house' and support this expansion with an ingegrated HS3 railway system. This will rebalance the congested, high traffic, high revenue-generating south with the currently less productive but more space-rich north.

The air quality around Heathrow already breaks European air quality standards

We moved from richmond to long ditton to escape the noise , get quality of life back and less pollution, but now you will wreck yet another enormous area with noise, multi thousands of people affected unnecessarily. NO NO NO!

There's already to much aircraft noise & pollution where I live. We are on the direct flight path West bound and are constantly bombarded with aircraft noise during the day & late at night when taking off in this direction. NO MORE WANTED!
