Enough is enough! The rehabilitation of heathrow would make multiple times the amount required to build the Thames estuary airport. Heathrow is a thing of the past!

The expansion of Heathrow is not negotiable. The landing of planes over people and towns is outmoded. It would be inexcusable to expand without a rigorous and HONEST evalution of the absolute necessity and justification to land planes into this part of London. From my own experience of flying I can see there are many less than full planes flying into Heathrow and connecting flights could be re organised. The proposals to build more runways are based purely on commerce with lazy attitude to need.

Simply , it is not appropriate to extend London Heathrow any further. If we were starting now, we would not think that this populated area would.

There is no problem to which expanding Heathrow is the right solution. It would hurt far more people than it could possibly benefit.

If the decision to create any extra runway at Heathrow goes ahead I shall resign my membership of the Conservative party. With all the increased development along the Thames flight path in recent years it is too dangerous to increase the capacity over the capital.

Not only is the noise intolerable especially from 4.30 am but the safety of so many planes landing over such a populous city

This can not happen! residents suffer and all other major world cities have a large hub airport outside of the city. And over flying major cities is prohibited for both noise and security concerns around the world.

Heathrow is no longer a suitable site for such an important international airport. Expansion to an airport with take-offs and landings over a densely populated part of west London is not the answer.. Various studies have indicated the negative effects on health on those living under flight paths. Certainly London must have impressive entrance to handle the capacity needed now and in the future, and that means a purpose built airport in the Thames Estuary, as Boris Johnson has proposed.. . The building of houses, relocation of jobs and businesses to the east of London, and the redevelopment of much needed homes on the Heathrow site would solve many urgent problems. It makes sense. We need a proper airport to London, a good front door, not the addition of a third or even a fourth runway at Heathrow which will be a catastrophic mistake in every respect. A purpose built airport for the 21st Century is the way forward.
