If you renege on your promise, I will not vote for you at the next election, likewise many, many others.

Crazy decision, environmentally, which puts peoples' lives at risk when the inevitable crash occurs.

Definitely no to Heathrow expansion. The estuary idea sounds appealing...

The noise pollution in Richmond Borough (and presumably most of West London) is already terrible. How could anyone consider it acceptable for it to get even worse, especially in such densely populated parts of the country? The whole family is regularly woken at 4am by planes and it's almost impossible to even have a window open during the summer because you can't hear each other or even the TV. It's an appalling environment for kids to grow up in.

I am horrified that Heathrow expansion is still on the agenda. The noise, polllution and safety aspects of a major hub so close to a densely populated city is shocking. Other alternatives must be worked on.

We cannot subject up to 2 million Londoners to more aircraft noise, congestion and pollution - an inescapable reality from a 3rd and 4th runway at Heathrow

How many times does one need to win a campaign. The deviousness of politicians and their subservient attitude to big business astounds me.

The Heathrow area is too populated for further expansion. It is time we developed a second major airport in the South East and failure to do so will truly consign this country to second tier economic status.

What with the terrible noise night and day. Sometimes I have to shout at my neighbour over the fence just to be heard. It ruins the community.

There is no other city in the world where planes flying into its major airport fly over the city in such volumes. It is already a disaster waiting to happen. It is also a major chemical and noise pollution health hazard

What a farce the 'independent' enquiry and Conservative promises turned out to be.

I AGREE THAT THE PROSPECT OF HEATHROW EXPANSION AND AN EXTRA RUNWAY WOULD MAKE LIVING IN KEW INTOLERABLE.I AM ALREADY WOKEN EVERY MORNING @ 4AM BY THE FIRST INCOMING FLIGHT AND REGULARLY FALL ASLEEP TO THE SOUND OF PLANES COMING INTO LAND LATE AT NIGHT.

The noise is bad enough now. More would be intolerable and blight Kew and Richmond.

Decisions should be made on a long term plan that meets environmental and social and business requirements not on short term solutions. Expanding an airport within the capital is not sustainable long term.

Find an innovative solution for future growth, doing more of the same is not the answer.
