Definitely no Heathrow expansion. So obvious that a new airport in Thames estuary is the right answer.

National & international studies have looked at economic and environmental aspects of aviation and it is becoming increasingly clear that air traffic noise has a detrimental impact on the mental & physical health of the population exposed to such noise. Why is the concept of ‘duty to care’ regarding the community such an alien concept to this government. What about the election promise of ‘NO’ to a third runway. Heathrow is not fit for purpose and tinkering around the edges is not helping much. Even a substantial segment of the business community says Heathrow is a spent force. Heathrow as a Hub would benefit exclusively share holders of Heathrow Ltd and not contribute economically to the country. Heathrow does not need any more assessments or consultations or enquiries. What is needed most of all in respect of aviation in the South of England is a brave, intelligent, progressive voice or a visionary looking ahead and planning an airport appropriate for the 21st century and which will have the least detrimental impact on the wider community.

We need to fly less not more. planes pollute the air. Plane fuel is finite and the cost of air travel will rise as peak aircraft fuel is reached and passed. So we won't need all these new airports, runways and terminals.E NEED TO FLY LESS NOT MORE. WE CONTINUE TO POLLUTE THE AIR AND AIRLINE FUEL

Airport expansion would do no favours for West London. There are several better alternatives.

People living near Heathrow suffer the worst noise pollution and air pollution in Western Europe. It is crazy to make this even worse when there are much better alternatives.

A multi-hub is another name for a massive shopping centre in the middle of Heathrow. Only good for BAA - not good for London as transit passengers won't even visit.

This fight is clearly not about Health or Safety or Human Rights or Sleep or Electoral Promises or Investment in the Future, it's about Lies and Vested Interests and Big Business and Influential Friends and Chancellor' Preferences! We have a 'Government of the Leadership, by the Leadership, for the Leadership'! It stinks and we'll have to fight it again and again and again until they get the message or are thrown out of office!

Noise levels currently too high so any expansion would make living under the flight path impossible, and detrimental to both physical and mental health.

I strongly oppose airport expansion. It is a fallacy that this is economically necessary; conversely, its effects - in particular in relation to noise, air pollution, and wider environmental health -are wholly negative.

And night flights to/from LHR should be banned on public health grounds
