It must be possible to solve demands on air travel without constantly expanding Heathrow, or building new airports. One obvious solution is to use more regional airports and improve rail links to London.

Heathrow should not be an option. It a the fault of governments lack of foresight that they feel it necessary to carry on expanding in the same places. We need a more visionary view. The air pollution, appalling noise and risks to health cannot be tolerated.

Surely it is obvious that more planes flying over a densely populated city is ridiculous. Enough is enough and alternatives should be where investment should go now.

The way forward is Stansted. Rip the place down, start again with a tip top modern airport. The fact is that the transport links there can easily be expanded and modernized. The people of essex, Herts and Cambridgeshire need a hub airport with non low cost carriers serving. They all have to come around the M25 at present to go with decent carriers.
