How unsurprising that the latest commission recommends what it does. We all know that massively powerful lobby groups are operating on behalf of the industry, and we can only guess at what deals will be (or have been) done with ministers behind closed doors. After al,l most MPs are not in parliament because they have principles! Woe betide those of us who live near Heathrow, unfortunately.

I oppose the building of a third runway as it would make life in our village miserable and I live under the existing Southern runway so I know what I am talking about. The demand for air traffic will decrease in this electronic age aas more business is dealt with that way so expand somewhere else .

How about trying to NOT increase air travel? Who wants to FLY to Durham? Invest in trains & more direct flights. A large proportion of passengers at Heathrow never set foot outside the airport...

We do not want another runway at Heathrow. The noise disruption and pollution over our city is already too much.
