Noise and pollution over S.W.London from Heathrow is already intolerable at times ...further increase in airport activity would be a disaster and is unneccessary as ther are better options

I don't think it is fair on residents. There are other options. Will we just continue and continue to expand with no thought for the people whose lives are affected. Its not all about money.

It is completely unacceptable and totally uncivilized to subject so many people to so much noise - especially when other options are available that have far less collateral damage.

Create more employment at heathrow by scrapping the air port and building a new town for desperately needed houses. Build a hub airport in the Thames estuary.

Elderly people who sleep less are at greater risk of heart disease according to scientists at Birmingham University. I am often woken by flights going to Heathrow between 3.30 and 4.00a.am., most recently on Friday 6th December.

It is scandalous that this government should even consider expanding Heathrow. Promises have been broken over and over and over again; I cannot believe this government is about to do it again. Have they no shame?! It is short-sighted and lacks any sense of vision or creative thinking. Bad faith, all around.

This whole process has been an affront to democracy, and previous decisions are ignored by the business world year in/year out. An irrevocable decision to prevent a further runway must be made.

More runways will lead to more traffic congestion and more pollution from planes and cars. The whole of the SE of England and Midlands should be considered for more efficient use of flight slots.

Heathrow was a huge mistake - don't make it worse by doubling its capacity.

The total plan is quite ridiculous! When will these people realise that money is not everything. The majority of people who use Heathrow as a hub do not spend money. Every time there is expansion they require more. It is time to rethink the plans. Go for an airport in the estuary where there is plenty or room, where noise is less of a problem and it is safer. I have not forgotton the time of the aircrash at Feltham. London was unbelievably lucky not have two or three times as many deaths.
No ifs,no buts, there will be NO 3rd runway..
