Why cant we just cut down the number of domestic flights out of Heathrow and re-route these slots to long haul. Please dont blight out city further with expansion at Heathrow.

The noise from Heatrow, and the polution is horrendous now. With a 3 fold increase in flights (even accepting 'quiet aircraft') our situation in West London will become intolerable.

If I had known of the aeroplains noise and pollution in Kew, I'd never had bought a property here. Often, I have to shut the windows in the summer to able to have a conversation.

I believe that adding a third runway is not the correct long term solution to our needs. it is short sighted and there are far better long-term strategies that have been proposed. if it does go ahead I believe that people affected by the noise will have to be compensated by the airlines which will cause fares to increase making us less competitive with other European hubs. it is a pity that common sense and long term planning are not at the fore as they are with many very successful Asian cities.
