Increased traffic, increased trains (affecting level crossing timings), pollution, noise, safety. Do not expand Heathrow.

A past resident of SW14, and with friends and family still in the SW area, and with previous experience of living under existing flight path, I fully support the 'Say No' campaign.

Expansion of Heathrow impacts more people with noise and air pollution than any other option. It is short sighted in terms of a long-term solution to air traffic growth and takes no account of the potential for increasing the efficiency of use of existing runways through larger aircraft and better day-time scheduling. The Thames estuary option should not be ruled out now. Though expensive, the people of London may well be prepared to contribute through taxation in order to win more peace and quiet. It is an imaginative, sustainable, long term solution if more runway space is needed, adding to the regeneration of the area and freeing up land west of London for much needed housing and employment. Why don't you ask Londoners what they think in a referendum before you exclude the option and ask whether they would be prepared to pay more in taxes?

Life will become intolerable in my post-code if we suffer both easterlie take-offs (we are already unable to speak in our back garden when these occur) and third (fourth?) runway landings. We are being treated like sacrifices to global commerce.

This is an opportunity for our politicians to show that they are willing to stand for the welfare and quality of life of citizens and their children and not just reinforce the sense of disempowerment and cynicism that Mamon is always served first.

Such a bad idea. Much smarter and safer to go east! The 4:30 a.m. Hong Kong flite in every day is DIABOLIC and disrupts our sleep

It's about time that the Government realise that Heathrow is in the wrong place for a large international airport and start expanding other airports, or building a new airport. There should also be a reduction in short haul UK flights, which could be better served by rail.

Why must a hub airport be in the southeast? The UK as whole would benefit from a hub airport which is more centrally located and where the planes do not fly over millions of people, causing immense suffering to those living and/or working under the flightpath.

If this is true that the commision is in favour of further expansion at Heathrow then the government should consider its political support in South West London.

It really is time to focus on creating a new UK hub airport somewhere other than at Heathrow: Somewhere where planes will not have to fly over a major conurbation.

I believe there is scope for alternative expansion elsewhere including the benefits of developing faster transport links into central London. This approach would be of benefit to other areas around London and involve less noise pollution.

It would appear that no consideration has been made as regards the noise that millions of us have to endure on a daily basis. Was there any point in submitting replies regarding the commissions request for comments on noise?

Heathrow does not adhere to respite periods and aircraft noise-pollution begins almost every morning at 4.30. Heathrow is a monster that's grown out of control.
