I feel that another runway not only will be detrimental to our physical and mental health, but also to our environment. It si not just the matter of expanding heathrow, but the environment is also affected, wildlife and their habitats suffer too. Then there is the extra volume of traffic on our already overloaded roads and motorways.

NO HEATHROW EXPANSION. Nobody gets used to the noise an increase would be unbearable to thousands of people. It hugely affects sleep patterns ,affecting work and mental health.

Heathrow has always got its way in the past, hence their breathtaking arrogance in asking for more runways now when they said at the time of the Terminal 5 public inquiry that a third runway would not be needed!

The level of noise is currently completely unacceptable, adding further capacity is utterly disrespectful to the communities they plan to ride roughshod over. Furthermore the notion that life will be quieter under an expanded airport is laughable.

If the recent leak regarding the probable recommendations of the Davies Commission that Heathrow should be expanded is confirmed then I thoroughly endorse the horror at such an outcome expressed by both my MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston, Zac Goldsmith and by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

Expanding heathrow will cause misery to the thousands under the flight path as well as destroying communities and historic landscapes to build a new runway. We are too small an island with too many people to try and compete with other European countries as the aviation gateway to Europe.

Third runway is not needed. Greater use can be made of existing flights. Air Travel will only continue to grow as long as it continues to be subsidised.
