I thought it was settled that there would be no 3rd runway. I can't believe that the Government are back-tracking.

The noise under the flightpath is just horrendous. There ARE real alternatives. An extra runway let alone two would be interlerable.

The Airport Commission doesn't have a clue (and doesn't want to have a clue) about the environmental impacts of Heathrow currently never mind an expanded Heathrow. Expanding Heathrow is the 3rd world option. What about some direct action against Heathrow. (i bet the Airport Commission haven't factored that in).

Expansion of Heathrow will detroy out homes and lives and is totally unecessary. In addition it will not serve the long term interests of the country but will instead only feed the profits of foriegn investors. This Government was elected on a no expansion policy - let this be the one pledge that is not renaged, finally an estuary airport is the correct answer, to select anything else is questionable in the least and should be investigated for fraud.

It is wrong to create a massive international hub airport so close to a densely populated city. Share the burden with Gatwick and build a high speed link betwen the two.
