Any such plans to destroy people's homes and history of small villages is savage, barbaric and down right cheap. Anything for a government to make us pay more tax and for local residents to put up with more noise pollution. The whole pollution levels and noise levels must be fixed because there is no way they can claim it won't rise, common sense says it clearly will rise.

They should shove that runway up their orifices.

I love the way the people who live in the village's that are not going to be touched are say I g bring it on. Different story if their houses were down for demolition. Also different story if someone in the governments house was affected.

There are at least two alternatives to this plan, which would not be anything like as intrusive or damaging to the environment or to peoples' wellbeing. it is iniquitous to impose this on Londoners. You only have to fly in at night over Gatwick to see how much more sensible it would be to expand that airport, where very few people would have their lives disrupted as opposed to Heathrow where you are virtually landing ontop of homes.

The future will prove that adding more planes in the sky is not the answer...

Unbelievable decision! Heathrow is situated in a very built up area. This will substantially increase air traffic, noise pollution, air pollution and even the risk of an accident.

This is a terrible idea - what happened to the government's commitment to reducing carbon dioxide emissions? This idiotic idea is going to help accelerate global warming. Think about it, Mrs May - do you want to go down in history as the UK Prime Minister who helped to seal the fate of humanity?

I'm just amazed the decision has been made to go ahead! Why?! We've got too much pollution as it is!
