Insane. Insane because the flight path comes over such a huge swathe of residential area, causing relentless noise pollution and a greatly raised death toll in the event of a crash. Insane because so much of the traffic is passengers in transit who aren't even trying to get here!!

We only sleep properly a few weeks in any year on few weeks when wind direction change. please consider extending run ways so others do not suffer the way we do, better still make heathrow smaller and enable us to sleep for 7 hours a night atlest and move the extra traffic to come to new airport build in thames , create jobs and use long term goal for people's real benefit rather than economic cost short term justification for early profit return,. using our concious enables us to leave a legacy when we are not here

Perhaps the individuals responsible for this ludicrous suggestion should buy a family home under one of the Heathrow fligh paths and see how they like it.

When will anyone have the courage to say NO to Heathrow?

The current government promised us no expansion at Heathrow. Its breaking of that promise is evidence of its weak-kneed opposition to big business. It invites the question as to what has changed. Or to puit it more succintly who has promised what to whom. Or, who is paying whom?

This area is already subject to far too much air traffic and congestion and the infrastructure will not cope with more. The noise pollution is too high already

The expansion of Heathrow never stops, politicians of all parties disregard the electorate in favour of big business. The vast majority of those suffering aircraft noise in EUROPE live in the vicinity of Heathrow,

Disgusting that the GAC should favour Heathrow expansion. Has no government the political will to stand up to the aviation industry or imagination to push forward with a viable alternative option?

I moved from Twickenham to New Malden to get away from aircraft noise. I am bitterly disappointed that there is still talk of planned expansion of Heathrow and wish to voice my opposition to any such plans.

The only reason travellers are using Heathrow is to change planes for international airlines. Build better hub facilities at Gatwick and Stanstead and share the love of planes!!

There is already too much noise and other pollution suffered by all of us living under Heathrow's flight-path, to say nothing of all the broken promises that there would be no further expansion of Heathrow.

In a few years time, Heathrow will need to expand even further which is not viable. It makes far more sense to build a new airport that is away from so many residential areas and hence will be able to expand in the future when capacity is reached.

Shame on you GAC. Have you been to Amsterdam? Can't you see Heathrow will never be able to compete. Get off your pot and build a new airport which is fit for purpose rather than compounding misery with more misery and an airport which will only ever be a hotchpot of add ons.

The noise levels in West London from aeroplanes are already introlerably high and far worse than in any other capital. I would very much favour a Thames Estuary airport as the alternative.

This area is already noisy and polluted enough. Unacceptable.
